Richelle teaches public and private metalworking lessons

Let’s make something together!

We are not holding public classes at this time, but we are booking private individual lessons as well as private group lessons at the metalledwith studio in Boiling Springs, PA. Click here for information on private lessons and private groups. When you’re ready, make contact. See Past Class topics for ideas that can make a great template for your group!

Richelle makes every effort to ensure her guests enjoy their experience and welcomes anyone to any class. Some enjoy a bit more independence, while others appreciate a helping hand to finish a technique. We do our best to teach new skills, promote creativity and match the desired input. There is something for everyone!

In make-and-take classes, our goal is to help you forget about life’s monotonous obligations and gather together to unleash your creativity and make something for you to take home and enjoy.

Workshops usually take place on weekends. We’ll dive into understanding the techniques that change and shape the material while learning to use specific tools in the process. Depending on the focus, these may last the morning or most of the day.

Policies and FAQs

Class times are flexible and may vary depending on the number of participants, etc. Do the class dates not work for you? Schedule your own personal party with a group of friends or come for an individualized session.

All classes require a minimum number of guests. All guests will receive a full refund in the event a class is cancelled due to a low number of participants.

To register for any class, contact us using our contact form. Upon receiving your information, we will email you with a secure invoice. Registration is confirmed with invoice payment. Additional instructions and directions to the studio will be sent at this time.

What’s the policy on cancellations?
We understand when life happens! Refunds for cancellations will be honored based on the following timeline:

100% 21+ days before the scheduled date of class
50% 14-20 days before the scheduled date of class
0% 0-13 days before the scheduled date of class

What do I have to bring?
All materials and tools are included in the cost of the class, unless otherwise noted. Makers are welcome to bring their favorite pliers or other preferred tools. Have a bauble you’ve wanted to use? We may not end up with time, but it doesn’t hurt to bring it along.

How do I prepare?
We prefer that you wear closed-toe shoes, especially when working with the torch. Long hair should also be pulled back (so bring a hair tie for those luxurious locks), and scarves or other loose and flammable accessories should be left at home. We will go over safety guidelines and a liability waiver before beginning the lesson.

Are these classes appropriate for kids? If so, what age range would work best?
Richelle teaches children, too. Many parents choose a one-time, hour-long lesson that can be individualized for the student. Different techniques are appropriate for different ages; please contact us to discuss options before registering children. Currently, all participants under the age of 21 are asked to have a guardian sign a liability waiver on their behalf. We suggest that parents consider a dual lesson with their children, as there is much to learn for all levels. Parents are also welcome to simply stay and watch, if they or their child(ren) desire.
