Working with Fire: how to develop your soldering set up

Saturday, October 18 9:00AM-11:30AM.

This Soldering workshop will explore the basics of silver soldering on base metals. To compare and contrast different soldering set-ups, we will explore utilizing an acetylene air-intake torch, propane torch, small butane torch and soldering iron. Learn joins, techniques, and how to recognize when the correct temperature has been achieved. Basic metalworking skills are expected in this workshop. This is ideal for those who have dabbled in assembly, wirework, beading, hammering or other techniques and seek to take the next step in metalworking. Please note that due to the nature of the course (working with fire), attendees must be at least 18 years of age. Materials are included in the price of this instructive workshop and attendees will take their samples, with potential for completed work, home at $75. Our group will be sharing torches. Please note that this workshop is technique-focused as opposed to take-home-project based.
